In 1990, my father, El Sayed Nosair, became the first member of a Bin-Laden organization to spill blood on American soil. Nosair assassinated Rabbi Meir Kahane, the controversial leader of the Jewish Defense League. At the time, the United States government categorized the JDL as the largest terrorist organization operating inside America.
While serving time for assault and weapons charges related to Rabbi Kahane’s murder, Nosair was convicted of involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Fortunately, plans to bomb twelve landmarks in the New York City area -- including tunnels, synagogues, and United Nations headquarters -- were thwarted.
Nosair’s legal defense was partially funded by Osama bin Laden, and as recently as 2000, bin Laden remarked in one of his notorious taped messages to "remember El Sayed Nosair."
Nosair is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
